Welcome to the Researcher’s Gateway! We’re pretty excited to introduce you to our project, which is designed to help make research easier. We plan to discuss research tools, terms, tips, and stories from our own experiences as researchers in our blogs. We love research, particularly historical research, and hope to share some of that love with you.
To start us off, we have chosen three areas of historical research—Heian Japan, The War of the Roses in England, and Tudor England. Heian Japan (794-1180 C.E.) is a particularly fascinating period in Japanese history, often referred to as the Golden Age of Japan. It was a time when the arts and especially literature flourished and is when many fundamental elements of Japanese culture were born. The War of the Roses (1455-1487 C.E.) was, in contrast, a time of civil war as two different branches of the royal family fought over control of England. Tudor England (1487-1603) refers to the reign of the winner of the War of the Roses, Henry Tudor—who became Henry VII—and his heirs. All three of these areas are ones that we are particularly interested in, and we are looking forward to sharing these time periods with you.
Take a look at our list of ongoing Topics! If you think we need to add any, just let us know!
We encourage you to sign up for our mailing list, which will give you access to our library of materials that are free to members of our mailing list. The mailing list will also give you periodic updates on upcoming research areas.
We plan to be constantly working and expanding both our mailing list library and research bundles for purchase, and joining the mailing list will keep you up to date and give you first chance at our sale prices. Most of all, we hope you will help us expand the world of research, allowing us to learn your needs, and assist you in your historical exploration as we act as your Researcher’s Gateway!
